This box makes it possible to run a graphics card for computers on a notebook in order to play graphics-intensive games. The construction was inspired by cyberpunk design.
The motherboard is a “PE4C V3.0” PCIe adapter which can be connected via ExpressCard. The built-in display, which is controlled by an Arduino, shows the current runtime and temperature.
In addition to some LEDs for the interior lighting, there is a cold light cathode for the illumination of the window. It was harvested from a broken scanner.
The whole thing is powered by an ATX power supply.
